Devo Anderson

Devo Anderson, vice president and founding board member of Employment Means Success (EMS), brings 20 years of leadership experience and hands-on job development from an Independent Living Center. A UC Riverside business economics graduate, he shifted from finance to scaling and exiting a specialty food manufacturer.

Since 2009 he has led nonprofit initiatives: 2024-25 Claremont Sunrise Rotary president, building homes in Mexico, vaccinating against polio, and constructing a rural Indian dam to lengthen the harvest season. Closer to home, he serves on the Project Boon board, distributing thousands of back-to-school backpacks and feeding thousands at the annual Eat & Be Well Thanksgiving event.

Under his board tenure since 2012, EMS secured 501(c)(3) status, earned and renewed CARF accreditation, and placed over 2,000 people with disabilities into jobs across five Southern California counties. He regularly volunteers with his wife, EMS executive director Kari Anderson, on fundraising, program oversight, IT, and outreach.

Devo focuses on scaling impact and delivering sustainable employment that drives independent living for Californians with disabilities. He, Kari, and their yellow lab service dog Lizzy make their home in Claremont.
